About Landscape Info Guide

Landscape Info Guide was formed with the intent to create interest from a customer base of companies in the landscape and associated industries,professional landscape designers, general DIY landscapers and the general public who have an interest in landscaping and gardening. This interest will be created with Landscape Info Guide’s detailed and searchable directory of suppliers and extensive searchable repository of information surrounding all things to do with landscaping and gardening.

Landscape Info Guide will provide suppliers who advertise on the site maximum exposure to all consumers of landscape products and services and is giving suppliers a cost effective way to reach their prospective market and target consumers who are educated and informed about what they want by using the landscape information section on the site. The site is a one stop shop of landscape information and services.

Landscape Info Guide’s motives for entering an internet business in the landscape industry came about after all the founding partners spending many years in the industry both in Australia and Overseas and noticing a definite need for this facility in the industry. Landscape Info Guide will be continually challenging the landscape internet market place with our ideas and innovative and creative interaction on the site by end users and suppliers alike. We aim to continually expand our landscape information folders with new and interesting educational information which will be easy to access and understand.

Landscape Info Guide has established an excellent internet company and e-commerce facility that delivers innovative and value added information and services to benefit the landscape industry which are unique, attractive and contemporary.

The founding partners are:

Damien Walsh

Damien has been involved  in the horticulture, landscape design, construction & maintenance industries for 28 years and his work as a consultant in all facets of the landscape, horticulture and environment fields span Australia, Africa, Asia & the Middle East. Projects include: hotels, resorts, residential estates, educational facilities, nurseries, golf estates, environmental parks and leisure facilities, sports reserves & commercial premises.  Damien has worked for large consultancy firms, lectured in Landscape and Horticulture as well as directed his own companies in the above industries, and in the process, has been extensively involved in design, master planning, marketing, documentation, horticultural consultation, tendering process,  landscape project management, plant procurement, nursery development & management, stakeholder consultation and negotiation and the design, development, coordination and delivery of training courses. Damien has formal qualifications in Landscape Design, Construction, Horticulture and Permaculture as well as Project Management and Training and Assessment.

Duncan Kaye

Duncan has completed thirty years in the horticulture and landscape industry throughout Australia and in England and for the duration of that time has gained valuable experience in all facets of the industry. In that period he has been involved in nursery management, plant propagation, production and sales, and has enjoyed sharing his passion for Australian native plants with both clients and customers. His extensive experience in landscape design, consultancy and construction has seen him working in collaboration with other landscape, nursery, horticulture and turf industry professionals. Duncan is a dedicated professional and is keen to encourage greater promotion and development of the landscape industry through this website. Duncan has formal qualifications in horticulture and landscape design.

Nick Patorniti

Nick holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning and has been involved in town planning, project management, cadastral surveying and landscape design projects for a number of consultancies. His profession has led him to work in the Middle East and across Australia. Projects include: State Significant Projects, Strategic Port Land applications, Urban Land Development Area investigations, Coordinator General designations, preliminary approval, reconfiguration and material change of use industrial, commercial and large residential developments. Nick also has experience in a number of feasibility and strategic planning jobs. These include, site selection studies, priority infrastructure planning, master planning, local planning scheme studies and structure planning. Furthermore, Nick has graphic design, artistic impression and 3d graphic modeling experience in creating concept master plans and landscape concept plans. Nick has worked for small and large international consultancy firms as well as directed his own company in landscape graphic design and artistic impressions. In his professional career he has been extensively involved in business development, team leading, reporting, stakeholder consultation and negotiation, presenting at seminars, leading multi-million dollar tenders and is a committee representative for a planning professional accreditation body.

Richard Leathers

Richard has worked in the landscape and nursery industry for a period of 12 years in Australia, England and Asia. During that time frame he has gained experience in a number of fields throughout the industry which include horticulture, landscape design, construction and maintenance, horticultural training and nursery design, development and management for both wholesale and retail nurseries.  Projects include residential and commercial developments,  residential estates, educational facilities, government projects, environmental and revegetation work and large contract grow projects. Richard has worked for large wholesale nurseries and directed his own companies in wholesale nursery and landscape design, construction and maintenance where he has been involved in horticultural consultation, tendering process,  landscape project management, plant procurement, nursery development & management and plant propagation, production and sales. Richard has formal qualifications in Horticulture and training in Landscape design and CAD operations.

 

Jo Brown

Jo Brown has had 20 years experience in the sustainable small crop farming industry which included the production and sales of Bananas and specialist herbs. Jo has formal qualifications in Sustainable Farming Practices. During this time Jo has been heavily involved in ecologically sustainable farming practices including Permaculture and organic growing principals and the wildlife identification, education and rescue industry.
 

Jo has also been involved in the horticulture and gardening industry for a period of 10 years. In that time Jo has worked for the Queensland Education Department as a gardener  and grounds person at state schools as well as designing and delivering presentations to school children in organic gardening, sustainable farming, permaculture and wildlife identification and education.


As well as gaining experience while working in these industries Jo has spent many years volunteering her time in a number of wildlife associations. This volunteering time included 4 years with Australian Sea Bird Rescue, 5 years with Noosa Koala Squad, and 15 years with Wildlife Volunteer Service. During her time volunteering Jo has gained extensive experience and knowledge in wildlife identification, education and rescue.
 

At present Jo is using all her knowledge and experience working on a large interactive ecologically sustainable farming project which is being developed along with Landscape Info Guide, and local Sunshine Coast disability charity Sunshine Butterflies to provide education and training programs for people with disabilities. The farm will have full access for people with disabilities to interact and be involved in the production and sales and will combine small crop farming, permaculture systems and wildlife education as part of the programs. The farm hopes to be fully self sufficient in a few years.
